Running Into Spring

Running Into Spring

May 01, 2024

Warm breezes, blooming flowers, and enough pollen to turn your car yellow. Ah, Spring is here.

For some, that means getting outdoors to enjoy our favorite exercise. Whether your passion is running, biking, hiking, swimming, or walking, getting back outside and into your groove can significantly boost your physical and mental health.

But if you’ve been sitting on the couch all winter, you may be out of practice. Try the following tips to avoid biting off more than you can chew:

  • Start Slow - Unless you trained hard during the winter, you’re probably not what you were in the Fall. Lower your miles, reps, and expectations.
  • Feel the Turn - Listen to your body, and don’t push yourself past pain or discomfort. No one wants to get injured before they even start.
  • There’s an App - Track your progress with your favorite app. Many have training plans that adjust to your body rather than pushing you past your comfort zone.

Lace up those sneakers, boots, or flippers and enjoy the outdoors safely and healthily.

Happy Spring!
